Notes of a Knitter with huge dreams

2.25.2003

I have completed one sock and I did pretty well, I had to start over because I knit too tight and I needed to use a bigger size needle. I contacted a knitting group in my area. I was invited to come for the meeting. I am interested in going. I saw their website and I may be the youngest one there- that's cool. Their meeting is tonight at 7. I should go cause I won't have this chance again for another month. I may go and bring my sock (the other side) and the book that I bought that shows what project I want to work on next- the knit turtleneck top.

I finished the backside of my pillow and halfway through it I realized that once again I am too short by like an inch and a half but instead of ripping I decided to just deal with the ugly pillow. Well last night I was joining the edges together and it turns out that I am not too short. The pillow looks fine and today I am heading to Joanne Fabrics to buy the filler and a zipper. My next project is going to be socks. I bought my needles and yarn already, its very pretty. This will be my first knitting in the round.

After the socks I am debating making a poncho or a sweater jacket for myself. This summer I am going to Alaska for vacation and I want to wear something I made. Malcolm says he is going to make a movie about the "knitting world" I hope he is joking. He says he plans on filming me during the process in which I try to earn a 'Beginner Advanced' lable in TKGA. Anyways, I actually was snowed in for days and I didn't start knitting until Monday. I was having emotional issues. I think that this month I may go to a knitting circle and meet some other people who share my interest. Oh yeah I received my card in the mail!! So it's official I am a super geek for joining a guild.

Future Projects (ideas):
Turtleneck Tanktop
Sweater Jacket
Bag
Blanket
Sweater

I can cable!!! I was on my 25th row when I measured the width and I was 2 inches short. So I ripped my work and now I've decided to just do a simple ribbing pattern on the back of the pillow. I get like this every time I knit- I start to hate the yarn color that I am working with and I just want to hurry and get it over with. I want to start my next project badly. I spent last weekend with my friends and I told them about my knitting and I am going to start making them things and not just Malcolm. That poor boy has to get everything I make. I should be done with the pillow by this weekend and I'll mail it out for Malcolm's birthday present. He'll love it and I'll hate it.
